Music in hospitality

It is clear to everyone why good music is so important in pubs and cafés. After all, the music creates the right atmosphere in hospitality venues. If you want your guests to feel relaxed, you put on music by a trendy singer-songwriter, and you create a party mood by playing, for example, the latest Dutch-language pop songs or international DJs. However, the effect of music in other hospitality venues, such as restaurants, should not be underestimated either. There are several reasons for this:

• With music you emphasise the identity of your restaurant
• By playing a specific genre that matches that identity, you create the atmosphere you want.
• When pleasant music is playing, your guests stay seated longer and will therefore order another cup of coffee or tea (or a bottle of wine).
• Would you rather encourage a faster turnover? Music with a lot of beats per minute makes your guests eat faster. That way a new table becomes available sooner.
• An experiment showed that people are willing to pay more for a cup of coffee when classical music can be heard in the background. So music also influences how your guests perceive prices.

Reason enough to get a good music computer for your hospitality business!

The handy Music Planner

As you have read, it is important to adapt the music to what your restaurant needs at that moment: fast beats around lunchtime so tables turn over quickly, and later in the afternoon, when it is quiet, some relaxed tracks so guests stay longer and order an extra cup of coffee. With a Backsound music computer for hospitality, that is no problem. You simply create a playlist for every moment of the day and then indicate in the Music Planner when each one should play. This lets you schedule specific times and days of the week. After that, you do not need to give it another thought.

Always the latest hits

What is more, with a Backsound music computer for hospitality you always have tracks that suit your venue perfectly. We offer a large selection of millions of tracks in more than a hundred genres. To make sure you always have access to the latest hits, we also provide constant updates. You tell us which genres you are interested in, and we then send you a message daily, weekly or monthly, as you prefer, with the latest available tracks. You then download these to your hospitality music computer with a single button. Do you use our handy search system and find that the track you are looking for is not on the computer? Send us a message and we will make sure it is on your music system within one working day.
