Music software in hospitality

For cafés and pubs it is of course obvious why it matters so much that good music is played. The music creates the atmosphere in the room, whether it is relaxed jazz to unwind to with a cup of coffee and a piece of cake, or party music from the best international DJs to get in the mood in the evening. However, as a business owner you should not underestimate what music can mean for other hospitality venues. Consider, for example:

• With music you emphasise the identity of your restaurant
• By playing a specific genre that matches that identity, you create the atmosphere you want.
• When pleasant music is playing, your guests stay seated longer and will therefore order another cup of coffee or tea (or a bottle of wine).
• Would you rather encourage a faster turnover? Music with a high number of beats per minute makes your guests eat faster. That way a new table becomes free sooner too.
• An experiment showed that people are willing to pay more for a cup of coffee when classical music can be heard in the background. So music also influences how your guests perceive prices.

The right music software is therefore essential for every hospitality venue.

Background music software for your shop

In a shop, too, music has a big effect on your customers. It lets you appeal to the target group you want to sell your products to. Is your shop aimed at young people? Then it is wise to play pop songs. Do you sell more luxurious products in a higher price range? Then play jazz. Music in retail has a unique function. Various studies have shown that the type of music, the volume and the tempo all influence the time a customer spends in a shop and how much money that customer spends. Music also influences the perception of price. When classical music is playing, customers will accept higher prices than when techno is coming through the speakers. Have you tuned the music in your shop just right? Then customers stay in your shop 15% longer on average, and spend around 33% more money. With the right music you can therefore significantly increase your customers' spending power. For this you naturally use Backsound's music software.
