The influence of music during exercise

As a gym owner, it is of course clear to you that music has a positive effect during exercise. But how exactly does that work? What is the advantage of installing a Backsound music system in your gym? We have listed them for you:

• A steady rhythm is created: this is important during exercise. With a steady rhythm, exercising becomes more efficient and consistent, which leads to better performance.
• Listening to music while exercising increases the efficiency of the metabolism.
• Music distracts from the fatigue and pain that may be felt during exercise. Sports psychologists call this phenomenon dissociation.
• A fast beat creates intensity: the rhythm of movement is set by the tempo of the music. When the music has a fast beat, the movements become more intense.
• Exercising is more fun: music creates a good feeling because it stimulates the reward systems in the brain. Listening to music releases dopamine, which is sometimes called the brain's pleasure chemical.

So there is every reason to play music in your gym.

Motivation during fitness training

During fitness training it is important to keep people motivated. Music in your gym can do that. By playing upbeat music, people stay in rhythm, forget that they are tired and so keep going for longer. Playing good music in your gym helps people achieve the best results. You can buy a tailor-made music computer at a sharp price from Backsound.

Separate music for every group class

Are group classes held in your gym too? Music is often central to these classes. Music is essential for zumba, step and body pump, for example. In yoga and pilates classes, music also creates the right atmosphere. But of course you can't simply put on the same playlist for every class. Especially when your gym has several rooms, you want the right music to be played for the right class. That is why Backsound developed the multiroom system. This way every room can be managed centrally through the same system.

Remote control for spinning

Music is also essential for spinning. That alone is reason enough to have a proper music computer installed in your gym. With Backsound's handy “remote”, the music in each room can be adjusted by using a smartphone as a remote control. Each instructor can, among other things, adjust the volume, genre and playlist in the room. Because a central music computer in the gym is still used, instructors don't have to lug a separate radio around. Spinning bikes often have a handy phone holder, which is ideal since the remote is a smartphone app.

Relaxing in the sports canteen

After being well and truly fired up by the music in the gym, people can take a moment to recover in your sports canteen. With Backsound's multiroom system, a separate playlist can be created for this too, which is of course really handy. Here the fast beats of the workout areas are not played; instead the tone is set by relaxed music that can serve as a background to a pleasant chat after exercising while drinking a healthy smoothie.
